OMGosh!!!!!!

OMGOSH!!!!!!!!! It's a good thing there are like four people who know about this blog, otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd get fired for what I'm about to say! There has been a lot of 'little things' (where I am currently employed) that are driving me crazy and quite frankly it's getting to the point where things need to change or I'm going to quit. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS GOING TO BE A GRIPE SESSION Anywho, so today I woke up ready to conquer the day. It's to bad that the day didn't forewarn me of what was to come. "E" wasn't feeling well today so she stayed home. No big deal I thought, it happens so I gave her some medicine, made some breakfast, let her watch some cartoons (BTW....I got grilled big time for letting her watch cartoons. I thought that was kind of wierd because all of the kids have been able to watch t.v. when they have been home ill. They've never complained about it until now. Apparently, it "sets a precedent so that the kids won't want to go to school." Give me a break already!!! It's not like she watched it all day. She read and even played a little game with me. Good freaking heavens. Yes, your children are going to fake being sick all the time now because they'll get to watch t.v.!!! These people are crazy sometimes.) Everything was going well until I entered the laundry room, where upon I see splayed out on the counter one of the kids shirts and two sticky notes attached to it. "Taryn- See how Nathan's brand new shirt shrunk? See how the stains of the lower right are baked on? That's exactly why I asked you to spot treat and not dry on high like you did." Okay, so here's the deal-e-o on that. I've been telling them for months that there is something wrong with their washer. Occasionally, clothes will get spots on them for unknown reasons. And just to clarify, it doesn't just happen when I wash clothes, but when they themselves are washing their own clothes. Secondly, I spot treat ALL of the kids blessed clothing. After my first encounter with this issue I learned quickly how to wash the kids clothes their way. Why they keep hounding me on this issue, I'll never know. Anyway, moving on....so shirts shrink a little especially if they are 100% cotton. I'm still not sure if he's mad that it was just a 'brand new' shirt that shrunk a little or the fact that it was the 'almighty' Stanford shirt. We'll never know! As far as the whole drying deal is concerned, it's true I used to dry the kids clothes on high. Who knew it would bring all sorts of hell for doing that? Me apparently.....but again I've repented, and have been using the lowest heating possible to dry their clothes. And STILL I get these random notes saying that I'm just not getting it. Well........I GET IT!!!!!!!! Gosh dang it! I make the freaking appointments, take the kids to all of their crazy events, make dinner......oh and this is another thing.......I'm seriously considering of having the kids make their own dinners and lunches for that matter. I feel like a fraking, yes fraking short order cook sometimes. One kid doesn't like pot sticker, the other fish, and the other one only eats from plastic forks.....one kid thinks the milk is always sour (which is not true....the milk is freaking fine) and psychs himself out so badly that he ends up gagging and throwing up....one kids hate burritos and the other throws tantrums if the meals are not prepared efficently enough for their taste (it ends up thrown across the room otherwise).....Where are the days when whatever was made for dinner was put in front of you and you ATE IT? I remember, and correct me if I'm wrong Mom, when I didn't eat all of my dinner. Not only did I not get dessert, but I had to eat my leftover meal for breakfast or lunch and even for dinner. Basically, it was finish it or starve until you do. All I get is complaining from everyone!!!!! Your jobs are stressful, I get that, but really? Must you take it out on me? I'm doing my job the best I can! alkdjfowehrqwobqowjfkl;asjdflkaeht boiueroiu qwerkljdfjasldkfj al;sdje0e3 I kind of feel a little better now......oh and as a side note, spanking will definatly be reinforced in my household!!!!!! I don't care what people say. If I tried to pull ANY of the crap that these kids are doing......whoa I would have been dead already! Seriously! There is only so much that time outs, check charts, and all of that crap can accomplish before it doesn't do anything!!!!!!! Oh and one other thing to add to the growing list of things.....It irritates the heck out of me when the kids complain about something and then I get in trouble for nothing. Take for example today, Emily complained that she was hungry because she didn't get anything for lunch. Okay people, the girl wanted UDON noodles for lunch and I made her some. She got a nice glass of juice to go along with it. That's all she wanted for lunch. The next thing I know, I'm getting a stern talking to because I'm not feeding their kids. Also, I made a large dinner for the kids tonight which consisted of kiwi and plums, hamburger patties with mashed potatoes and some steamed mixed veggies, the way they like them. And still it's not good enough for them. When will enough be enough for this family??????????? Okay, whatever, I'm done with this for now. Wait, I think I just heard the 'world's smallest violin' stop playing. I guess that means it's time for me to sign off. Good night and sleep tight! :)

P.S. God bless the idea of blogging. This is quite theraputic.....I think it's going to start taking precedent over chocolate soon.

Long time..no see...well I guess you really can't see me:)

Okay, so it's been forever since I last wrote on here. My bad. Laziness and lack of interesting events to write about have made this blog a bore. Sorry. Well, that has all changed, thank goodness! So, in May of this year, my friend decided to set me up with a friend of hers. Let's just say sparks did not fly and the whole love at first sight deal did not occur. But later on that week, I was invited to attend an A's game. (Yes, he is an A's fan...but I still love him anyway!) Suffice to say, we became inseparable and four months later we became engaged. If any of you are a friend of mine on Facebook, chances are you have seen the video of the proposal. If you have not seen it or are not a 'friend' of mine, then you should know that he proposed to me at an A's game. The same place where we had our first official date. I guess the date at the beach didn't count, I still have no idea why. It was a splendid evening and the weekend was going to be better because I was going to visit my fam. But more importantly they were going to meet my future husband. My family grilled him like the fourth of July BBQ corn. Seth had the most intriguing questions for Jimmy and frankly was the worst offender of the bunch. Go figure. Anyhow, there are a million other little moments that have taken place in the past few months. But I am to lazy and tired at the moment to write them all down. Besides that would take up like 3 pages worth of stuff. Who has time to do that? I don't I guess! Just be prepared to attend the coolest and most fun reception on Feb. 12, 2011!!!!!!!!!!! Well, nighty night y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUAH!!!!!! :) I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!

UTAH!!!!!!!

Holy crap! I almost forgot to mention the Utah vs Cal game. Since my parents had to pick me up at the airport and drive an additional three hours they recorded the game. It was good and well worth the wait and really all I gotta say about the game, was that it was FREAKING AWESOME. Oh, and as a side note, I AM NOT WASHING THE CARS!!!!!!!:)

Random looking page......

Hi there!!!! So, for the last hour I have been trying to get a new background/banner to replace my current festive one. No such luck!!! Until I can figure out how to fix the problem, you are going to have to deal with my page being really, really messed up. At least you don't have to listen to my Christmas play list. Instead you get to listen to some super random 'Taryn' songs!!!! If I have to suffer while this page is 'under construction', then so do you. Poor souls!!!:( ha ha....I feel delirious with power. Had I known this would happen, I would have gone to the 'dark side' earlier. They gave me cookies!!! Who says 'no' to cookies? So with that, may the mass times acceleration be with you....:)

P.S Eat pomegranates!!!!!

Why hello there:)

Sup? Okay I was talking with some people the other day about a certain phrase that we use nowadays. Can you guess what it is? Okay, it is 'what is up?'. Throughout the years this phrase has become increasingly shorter and shorter. For example: it used to be that you would walk up to someone and say, "What is up?" When I was in school, this phrase went through two different phases. First, it was, "What's up?" and then it became, "Wazzup". Now days, this phrase has undergone another change. These days if you listen to a teenager, you'll most likely hear them say, "Sup" when they start a conversation. For reasons unknown to me, I have this fear that the phrase will die out and another more insipid one will take its place. Yes, I have random conversations, but if you think about it, I'm right. So I got my butt kicked in a game of soccer...by a five year old. Then my newly replenished junk food stash got raided and I'm back to PB&J sandwiches. Horray!!!:( I'm short of buying a safe and lock my goodies away from little hands.

So I'm a total Facebook addict. I guess that's the first step right? J/K! Well I've taken these ridiculous but ever addicting quizzes about random things like, 'what language best suits you'? Turns out that the German language is better suited for me than English. By no means am I about to delve into learning another language. If there is one I learned about serving a LDS mission, it is that I suck at speaking a lanuage other than English. I took a quiz about something to do with which famous woman in history I would be. My result was Laura Ingall's 'the badass'. I had to laugh when I saw this, because I remember watching 'The Little House on the Prarie as a child. What was another one?.....oh yeah! Apparently, Norway is more my style. So...I'm moving!! Catch on the flip side!!!! Yeah right....why would I want to live in a country where it's colder than Parowan during the winter time? So that might not be accurate. But if I were to ditch the good ole USA for another country, it would be for Ireland. I would love to live there. Who knows...I never thought that I would actually visit the country. Maybe one day!:) So while the quizzes are again, ridiculous and time consuming, they have provided me with fodder for my blog and your entertainment!

OH!!! I created a Christmas playlist the other day and I have been listening to it everyday since then. I'm fairly certain that I am annoying everyone around me. If not, I think that my employers think I'm crazy!!!!! I can't help it. The music makes me happy and really, who can argue with that logic. Trust me when I say that I really need to be in a uplifting mood this week. It's going to be crazy around here with people on very different schedules than usual. On a random note...I know what a shocker...the song 'Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer' has special meaning to me and members of my family. Hey Mom the title fits you now. haha I just thought of that. So here's to you Mom!!! Everytime that song comes on, I end up telling 'the story'. It's almost as good as "Where's the mall?" and "Sir, this is OnStar. Is everything okay?" Okay, so my leg just went to sleep. I guess that's my cue to end this post. I think I might post my Christmas playlist...perhaps it will put whomever reads this in a good mood. Unless of course you listen to the 'Grinch song'. Anyhow, good evening to all, and to all a good night!!!! Admit it. You totally saw that one coming! :)

My weekend.......

General Conference weekend.
Two days of spiritual enlightenment.
Total fun!!!

On Friday I left for my friends house with the intent to just chill and watch General Conference...Right. Friday evening got off to a great start. Mic left her keys at a friends house, so she didn't have her key to get into her room. She was fairly late for work that evening seeing that she didn't have the appropriate work clothes. While she was at work, I ended up playing with her two year old niece. I finally gave up at about midnight. Saturday arrived, Mic got her key back, we got ready for the conference, raided her kitchen to get food for some starving football players, delivered said food to some grateful football guys, and later attended the morning session. I loved Elder Bednar's talk...it definitely made me think of the fam and how much they mean to me. Afterward, I changed into more comfortable clothing and went to a SRJC football game. But not before mooching off the Elders for some pizza and soda. To be fair though, I did give them some mint Oreo cookies for their trouble. The game was awesome and pretty intense. The final score was 54 to 32! My throat was sore from screaming and yelling from both excitement and flat out bad calls. The zebra's were working overtime during that game. Anyway, Mic and I ended up watching the afternoon GC session at her uncles house. The next day, we watched both sessions of GC, played some basketball with the missionaries, and watched 'The Singles Ward 2'. Then we had some real food! After eating cookies and cheesy crackers for two days straight, you begin to appreciate a good home cooked meal. I didn't get home until late and was exhausted...It was easy to fall asleep after such a long weekend. I'm just glad to be back home and in the grove with work. Normally I would hate that, but not this week. Today went by fairly fast....I love days like this! Well, the NyQuil is starting to kick in and the first disc of 'Burn Notice' is repeating it menu screen over and over. I guess I'd better put in the second one and go from there....Hope everyone is having a great evening!!! Peace:)

Cotton candy...

I've decided that cotton candy is one of the best thing since sliced bread. I love my sugar! I'm indeed thankful to whomever came up with the idea. Right now I'm waiting for the cleaners to finish their work. So, what better way to kill time than to update my blog! Thank goodness for music. Yesterday was an interesting day. First off, my employers called a repairman to look at the dishwasher. It has been really loud lately when we run the cycle. They've had the machine for eighteen months and it broke. So it was either buy a new dishwasher or install a new motor. We all know that buying a motor can be just as expensive as buying a whole new unit. But it was decided that a new motor would be best. For those of you that are looking to purchase a fine dishwasher....DON'T PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL!! IT WILL JUST DIE ON YOU A FEW MONTHS LATER! I thought I'd give you a fair warning. Also, my niece called me yesterday. She is so cute and is getting better at speaking. After all, she is only two years old. Her laugh is so contagious...it makes you want to laugh. That phone call made my day so much better! I like to hear from my family...even if it is not so good news. Being away from them is difficult. Thank goodness for the many forms of communication. I have to admit I could make a better effort to keep in contact with them. Unfortunately....or perhaps fortunately, I don't have anything interesting to report to the fam. The single life is not that interesting. However, I did go to the singles ward in Berkeley last Sunday. Yes Mom....I did! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am, however, looking forward to General Conference. The Interstake Center is on Temple grounds and of course everything is beautiful there.
I took a dance class the other night. I had so much fun! It has become my only form of exercise...oh well. At least I'm making the effort. Still trying to get off 'the big corn'. It takes way to much will power to not want a soda. That's why I keep my water bottle with me always. It helps to remind me that I have something to drink....even if it is water:( This is perhaps the most boring post ever...but I've got to go! Peace:)! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!

This blog needs help....

This blog needs some help, I think. When I rearranged my room, I didn't connect the cable box to my T.V. Oddly enough I think that it has served me well. I have removed the temptation to want to watch television shows during the work hours and I don't stay up super late at night channel surfing. Oh...this is a random thought but have any of you ever played that game? It is very simple. All you need is a T.V., a remote (or channel changer), and the game itself. Basically, there is a set of cards and on them is a list of things you need to find in about 30 seconds. For example, a few of my friends had to find like an alligator, the color blue, an apple, etc. After the third time playing the game, you start to feel a little nauseous. Man I wish I had thought of that game. I'd totally be a millionaire by now....or not.
So this last weekend was rough. I felt sick and was felt the urge to cry. It was a totally weird experience and hope that that doesn't happen ever again. Lately I have been stressing out about finances and what not. I know I'm not the only one has been feeling the same way. But it is sucking the fun out of my life. I need to find a job that allows me to travel and experience new places and people. I still need to figure out where I'll ever find the time to take my once in a lifetime road trip to Montana and South Dakota. Geographically speaking, it wouldn't be that long of a trip. Give me a car, good music, unhealthy snacks, and a caffeinated beverage and I would be good to go. Money is totally getting in the way of this goal. I hate being a adult. It is way overrated. Well enough of that....
The town that I live in FINALLY got some moisture. The funny thing about the whole ordeal was that it was uncharacteristic for this time of year. I had to laugh because back in UT it is raining up a storm and my hometown is in the freaking desert. I live off the coast of California and they are in a drought. It's all a little backward if you ask me.
I turned on my play list and was thinking of the whole Taylor Swift and Kanye West drama. I know I'm not the first to comment on this, nor will I be the last. But I thought I would jump on the band wagon for just a moment. The guy is a totally jerk and what is even more sad is that our own President of the United States thinks so too. Apparently he was quoted as saying that he thinks that Kanye is a 'jack***'. haha I think I might be warming up to Obama. If you don't already know what happened, just Google it. There are several pages devoted to this incident. Well I have to go....I know, this was a productive post wasn't it? Later:)

Big Bang Theory Moves Furniture

So...this is another TBBT deal! It's from one of my favorite episodes....enjoy!

Labor Day...

Note: I think I went a little comma happy. It's late and I don't want to change anything.

I thought I was going to spend this weekend just chillin' in my room, making it a movie weekend. But alas, it was not to be. What was to be an uneventful weekend became anything but, sort of. On Friday evening my friend and I made plans for me to visit her on Saturday. I arrived at her house, and off we went to the Santa Rosa Junior College, to watch the first football game of the season. I was super excited to attend the game, as I have not been to one in years. We met up with one of Mic' friends and entertained ourselves by walking around the campus, talking about food, and checking out the cute guys. Fast forward a couple of hours, the game finally commenced!!! The first couple of quarters weren't that eventful. I thought a couple of the calls the 'zebras' made were very silly. The third and fourth quarters were exciting. The home team got two touchdowns and won the game. However, the thing that got every one's undivided attention, happened off the field. Two of the SRJC players got into a...shall we say 'heated' debate over something that happened on the field earlier. One of the guys happened to be Mic's boyfriend and the other guy was his roommate. So even though his team won, the post game dinner turned out to be a rather tense affair. Mic, myself, and her friend tried to make light of the situation, but the guy was having none of it. I met up with my friends at Mic's BF's apartment where all heck broke loose. The BF and his roommate got into another argument that turned ugly quick. Now I know that boys will be boys, but come on!!! The next then Mic and I know, the two guys are challenging each other to an all out brawl. While all of this was going on, I noticed the guy's apartment was directly above a frozen yogurt shop. Now I am all for that sort of stuff and I headed in. I was about to make a purchase when Mic came in and said it was time to go. Great I thought...and I didn't even get the yummy dessert. The following twenty minutes were quite possibly the most uncomfortable minutes of my life I have never heard so much swearing in a short period of time. I couldn't get out of that car fast enough when it was parked. My plan at that time was to just leave, but I stayed as my friend was visibly upset by the events that had taken place. To top it off, the BF got kicked out of his apartment and we went back later to retrieve his things. By then I was determined to leave and get back home. I was tired after being in the sun all day and I didn't want to deal with anymore of the drama. Holy Cow! Anyway, I got back home...finally!...and didn't actually get to sleep til about 2 a.m. Maybe that had to due with the fact that I downed a Red Bull for the ride home. I did manage to wake up early the same morning with the determination to complete the task at hand....changing my room around. My employers weren't home so with my music playing loudly, I set out to undertake this rather large scale endeavour. After two hours of constantly moving large objects around. I completed the activity and I must admit that I enjoy the new view. On Labor Day, I totally slept in...isn't that what you're supposed to do on holidays? I made it the 'Keeping Up Appearances' marathon. So with a Boston cream pie and root beer at the ready, I watched the entire series. Took an afternoon drive and enjoyed the changing of the the season. It's wonderful to see the leaves change color and smell the burning of wood in the evening. This is perhaps one of my favorite seasons. While it is far more beautiful to witness this event in Utah...California has its own beauty as well. I am still waiting for it to rain here....The kids and I found this huge, ugly looking bug with super long antennas. We were trying to figure out what kind of bug it was, then it flew away. We made our own 'Grand Canyon'. You know, sometimes playing with kids just freaking rocks!!:) So that's what happened this year during Labor Day. I have to say that I prefer going to the Iron County Fair and Parade over this kind of stuff anyday. Having a wonderful day...Hope you are too! Peace out!

The Big Bang Theory - Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock

I have become a fan of this show....it is so freaking hilarious!! These particular scences make me laugh every time I watch this. You know that laughter really is the best medicine!!!

YO!

I couldn't think of a cool title today, so you're stuck with yo!!! What a day and a half. I can't believe it's only Wednesday. If I can get through this week, it'll be a miracle. I have been having a heck of a time sleeping well. If I never see another paid program feature of 'The Sleep Number Bed', it'll be to soon. Obviously, this is going to be one of those deep, dark thought provoking blogs:) That'll be the day. I bought myself a planner yesterday. Now all I want to do is get rid of it. I've figured out why I didn't have one this last year. Once you see all the things that you have planned to do, it makes you go crazy. Or at least that's what it does to me. Go figure! Life is way to complicated and 'planned' out for me anyway. I don't want a daily reminder of it. Well, now that I got that out of my system. Maybe I should think more positively on the subject....Okay I thought about it....yep I got nothin'. In all seriousness, it was brought to my attention a couple of day ago that perhaps I could be a bit more organized. Hopefully, this will prove to be a fruitful venture. So this weekend, I will attempt to change my room around. Unfortunately, I have picked up a bad habit from my mom. I remember when I was a little kid having to help my mom move our furniture around A LOT. I'm okay with change and all, but I prefer that it happen when I want it to. This is one those times in which I can control said change. I'm looking forward to this activity...I even put it in my planner! OMGosh! Did heck just freeze over? WOW! I can tell it is SO time to hit the hay....with that I bit thee good night! Later:)

Middle of nowhere....

When I say that I take my bike and ride into the middle of nowhere, this is what I mean....It was a beautiful day...Hot and slightly windy, but it was very quiet. You couldn't hear anything but the occasional airplane flying by. It is almost therapeutic when I reach my destination. To sit and read a book or just sit and listen to the wind. It's too bad that I don't do that more often.:)

Happy Birthday Utah!!!

Yeah, it's Utah day!! I wonder if the parade is over already. Anyhow, it's freezing here and has been for the last two days. I hope it warms up soon. So that was all I wanted to say really. Happy Birthday UTAH!!! Peace out:)

It has been a while since my last post! A lot of things have also happened. I have a new nephew and another on the way. My how the family is growing. California is....well California. I have been exploring a lot lately. Recently I went to visit a friend about an hour away from here. It was a nice getaway from the kids and all. Six Flags was very fun. A bit of advice to anyone who plans on visiting said place, should invest in the Fast Passes. It does cost about $20.00 in addition to the general admission. But it really is worth it. Otherwise, you'll spend 45 minutes waiting in long, long lines. I learned this the hard way. I finally went to the beach, which was fantastic. The water was absolutely FREEZING. The worst was the feel of sand beating against my body in the water. The weather was wonderful. Wonderful enough to get a great sunburn. Half of my body got fried, while the other side just got nice a tan. I plan on visiting some friends this weekend and just chill. Not much to report!! Have a wonderful day!!!

Hello from Cali....

So I made it to California without incident. But wouldn't you know, I ended up getting sick a couple of days after said arrival. Before I left Utah, I visited my fam and one of my nieces Harlie was sick. In a conversation with my Mom, she informed me that my Dad and also my brother-in-law all got sick like I me. So the first few days in my new home, and I spent it in bed, with many trips to the bathroom. I don't think rice and spaghetti will be eaten anytime soon. I also have found that my cell service here sucks. I really don't want to change my phone service. I just got used to the one I have now. Also, my computer cannot connect to the internet. Dad if you are reading this...help please!! Now with all of that said, this family that I am working for are great. More importantly the kids that I will be watching are awesome. So I am thinking that I will enjoy this area and whatnot. I'll keep you posted....
